SUN PEAKS NEWS – REBRAND & REDESIGN

Over the course of this summer I’ve been super busy taking over operations at Sun Peaks Independent News – a small community newspaper that my sister and I made the (slightly overwhelming) decision to purchase earlier this summer. SIGNS ‘N MORE WEBSITE DESIGN

After some frustrating beginnings, I’ve finished designing the website for Signs ‘N More Lloydminster. This site was a good learning experience for me, and a great addition to my portfolio. Thanks to my boss for the opportunity, and also for putting trust in me and letting me have creative control in designing a great website for him.

ORIGINAL GRAPHIC TEES

One of the perks of working in a sign/promotional products/print/EVERYTHING shop, is that it’s cheap and easy to supply our own blank tee, and put whatever image you can imagine on it using a heatpress.
The other day I put Paul Newman’s beautiful face on one tee, and scrounged up an old photo of David Attenborough feeding an orangutan in his youth for another.

LLOYDMINSTER NETWORKING

I recently took on a pro bono logo design for an online social media group called Lloydminster Connects. The Facebook group was created by friend and former colleague Andrew Brethauer after finding that no such group existed. He founded the page with the hopes of creating a public space for the people of Lloydminster; a place to network, share ideas, events and services (good job, Andrew!). Basically an on-line community.

LIFE AT THE LOCAL PAPER

For the past few months, I’ve been employed as one of five graphic designers at the local newspaper.
The paper, known well for it’s colored and full paged advertisements, keeps the Graphics team busy.
